The trouble with charlie

For reading this week we read a story called The trouble with oatmeal. It is about a cat who moves away with her owners, but runs back to her old house to have kittens. Cats are known to travel long distances to get back to places they know. We wrote a script for a news show that shares the story of charlie-a cat we made up who returns home after travelling a long way.

The New Zealand Flag

New Zealand has been voting whether or not we should change the New Zealand flag. l think we should change the old flag because it only has two simple colours which is red and blue.  I think that we should change the old flag because we might get mixed up and confused with Australia.

New Zealand is a nice independent country.  The new flag represents the all blacks which is the New Zealand rugby team.

Powhiri

Today we read a book about a boy who went to a Powhiri with his class. Mr Moran and Whaea Saf decided that we should all do our own Powhiri. We had fun doing our Powhiri.  I love Kapa Haka because I love learning different waiata with Whaea saf.
